The 3 toxic behaviors that pollute the work environment

I couldnt care less

The toxic or poisonous attitudes that I have been trying to transform or at least bring a new perspective to it, are strongly attached to most of the people minds. Well, at least they are in the minds that have been crossing my professional path.

Most of the 5 and 4 star Hotels where I operate do have unique systems where we can find such a variety of functions, with differentiated levels of qualifications.

The challenge starts when any organization joins people, no matter the dissimilarities between them.

The 3 poisonous attitudes are easily diagnosed whenever a learning project is starts.

We are still very far away from having learning organizations, otherwise those 3 attitudes would not have place to thrive.

I am talking about:

1.         Attachment – to greed, to possession, to reputation, “bubble gum mind”(afraid of losing something).

2.         Ignorance – going to a level of ignoring the information available; people do not know what to do or say.

3.         Anger – always in the mood to manipulate and cause tensions.
More attachment means more anger!
More ignorance means more attachment!
More anger means more ignorance!
Or self-centered mind runs the show. People expects from others to react as they conceived. This only brings conflicts and suffering between staff and as a result: unproductive and blurry organizations.
The major instrument at our disposal is the way we communicate with others.
In order to fight against such a stingy behavior, I use different models that boost an extensive range of communication dimensions. And I call it stingy because behind the behavior exists the ego and the fear. We talk “through” them.
The language is the mirror of our fear and ego.  The bigger they are, the more disruptive is the communication.

Fear and ego will be the topics of my next article.
Hope to see you soon and thank you for reading me. 🙂
